About Ribfest

Rotary Ribfest's are popular destinations throughout Ontario during the summer. These great summer family-picnic style events are filled with attractions for people of all ages. Kid’s games, festival foods, beverages, live music and, of course, ribs are the main attractions to Ribfest. These festivals, most popular in the GTA area, have grown into annually anticipated events by local communities.

As the popularity increases with these festivals, more Ribfest's have started developing in and around Central Ontario. Ribfest's have also been a great fundraising tool for local Rotary Clubs that want to make a difference in their communities.  The Burlington Lakeshore Rotary Club (Canada’s Largest Ribfest) has raised 1.85 million dollars, in only 13 years of operation. They continue to lead the way in attendance, going green, and many other innovations. As one of Chatham Sunrise Rotary’s biggest mentors, Burlington Lakeshore has sculpted our event into a premiere event from year one. Join us in making this 3rd Rotary Sunrise Ribfest a main staple for Chatham-Kent, and signature event in southwestern Ontario.

The Ribbers

Bad Wolf BBQ

(Kansas City, Missouri)

Bad Wolf Barbecue hails from Kansas City, home of the American Royal and the most famous BBQ in North America. Now located in Ontario, they've been doing the Ontario Ribfest circuit for ten years (and local catering as well) and have won 1st place best ribs, 1st place best sauce all over the province. The reason? --They say anyone can go out and buy or make a pretty good sauce, but the Kansas City style emphasizes the meat itself, making it savory and mouth-watering on its own ("bone-suckin' good !"). Look for the bright red shirts, their signature sweet southern-style cornbread, the shuffle-dancing grillman and the huge wolf statue wearing his t-shirt that proudly proclaims the score: "Wolf 3, Piggies 0" !!

Blazin BBQ

(Chatham, Ontario)

We are one of the largest traveling caterers in the province of Ontario. Ribfests, concerts, corporate catering and high volume events are our specialty. We are currently planning to market our sauces and barbeque products nationwide. Our mission is to create old southern style barbeque with a modern Canadian Edge. Through flare and showmanship, we strive to provide a fun and exciting atmosphere to keep our guests entertained. We pride ourselves in finding the freshest and finest quality ingredients available, ensuring we present the best product to our valued guests.

Gator Barbecue
Company

(Everglade City, Florida)

Gator BBQ was formed in 1983 by a gentleman from Naples Florida by the name of Don Brown (a.k.a. the King of Ribs). In 2006 Matthew and Louise Smith acquired Gator BBQ and haven't looked back. It is now family-run business with children Kurt, Nick, Aaron and Alexis all contributing to its success. We now tour Ontario and the Northern U.S. States doing upwards of 30 ribfests a year. Some of the awards we have won in 2008 were first place ribs Rochester New York, Best Pig Rig, Burlington Ontario, Best Food Booth Norfolk County Fair - to name a few.
