Welcome to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent Boat Docks situated in the communities of Chatham & Wallaceburg, Ontario Canada on the eastern shores of the Thames & Sydenham Rivers.
To help make your stay as comfortable as possible, this package amalgamates navigational, special event, feedback, and amenity information to help familiarize you to the abundant opportunities offered within this exclusive Municipality.

There’s a range of dining options. Lounge on a patio that overlooks the scenic river while you dine, or enjoy a hearty steak supper at one of our downtown establishments. There’s fine dining, casual dining and dining on the run!
Experience the many attractions and events occurring in and around our community throughout the boating season by using our special events listing at www.chatham-kent.ca. Many of the events are within walking distance from the dock’s with some offering free shuttle transportation to and from the attraction. All of the scheduled events are sure to please – there’s something for everyone! We’ve got cars, canoes, casinos, carnival rides, craft tables, Canada fireworks and more!
Engage… in our fun filled festivals while Chatham-Kent’s friendly and knowledgeable staff take care of you! They’re available to answer any questions you might have to ensure that you have a pleasant and relaxing stay in Chatham-Kent.
Relax knowing that our weekend overnight security is looking after you! They carry VHF marine radios set on channel 68 so that you can contact them for any reason without leaving your vessel.
Need something special planned? Simply ask when you place your reservations and we’ll do our best to help you! Forget your blow dryer? Inquire at the dock office – we keep many of the necessary toiletries on-site because we understand how easy it is to forget things at home.
Enjoy …the beauty of Chatham-Kent! Take a moment to smell the flower boxes that line our downtown streets. Take to the green; let us book you a tee-off time at our local golf course, only a short ride from the docks. Take a walk along the river in the early morning and witness the fog rising off of the water, or just take a moment to sit on the grass under a tree and unwind.
Enjoy time spent with your family! When you arrive, ask about our complimentary kids’ package, sure to keep the little ones busy! Don’t forget to slide by the local ice cream shop for a chocolate fudge sundae. In the evening select a video from our on-site selection of movies – just ask at the dock office!

SPEED LIMIT: 8 km/hr = 5 miles/hr
DEPTH OF THAMES RIVER: 21’ (mid-point)
BRIDGES :
Prairie Siding Bridge – Swing bridge height 19’. There is no bridge operator on duty. Boaters call 519.360.1998 from Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00 am-5:00 pm and after hours call 519.359.3108.
Parry Bridge – Lift bridge height 21’. As this bridge is not staffed, the Prairie Bridge operator will telephone the appropriate contact person to open the bridge. (Note: The hours of operation for this bridge are the same as the Prairie Siding Bridge; however, this bridge will not open from Monday to Friday during 8:00 am-9:00 am, 11:45 am-1:00 pm, or 3:00-5:30 pm due to heavy traffic conditions).
Lacroix Street Bridge – Fixed height 25’.
Third Street Bridge – fixed height of 22’
ARRIVAL TIME: By 6:00 pm unless other arrangements have been made.
CHECK OUT TIME: 12 noon (flexible)
CANCELLATION POLICY: We request 24 hours notice.
UTILITIES/WASHROOMS/SHOWERS: Hydro hook-ups; water available in every area; bathrooms/showers are located in Civic Centre and Tecumseh Park; washroom/shower keys are available at the dock office ($5.00 deposit is required) when you register.
YMCA: For open swim schedules or court rentals call 519.352.0950.
CANADA CUSTOMS: Upon arrival boaters need to call customs from the dock office when they register. They will have to report to customs the number of people in their party, how long they are staying, etc. Phone#: 1.888.226.7277
DISTANCE FROM MOUTH OF THAMES RIVER: 30 kms or 19 miles = 3 hours
DISTANCE FROM PRAIRIE SIDING BRIDGE: 16 kms or 10 miles = 1 ½ hours
DISTANCE FROM DOWNTOWN TO WEST END: 2.6 kms or 1-½ miles

Sunday 8:00 am-5:00 pm
If you are arriving at a time when dock staff is off duty, staff at the Civic Centre front desk will be happy to assist you. They are not on VHF marine radio, but are on duty Monday – Friday, 8:30 am-5:00 pm.
COMMUNICATION: When you reach the downtown area please contact the boat dock attendants on VHF channel 68.
